Mélissa Andrianasolo is a PhD Student in Art History at UQAM. She works about place and representation of afro-descendant people in Art History. In 2020, she cofounds La Clameur Podcast Social Club a production studio which uses podcast as a tool for popular education and fighting against discrimination. Through the first podcast produce by the studio, La Couleur de l’Art (“The Color of Art”), she grapples with the challenges, possibilities, and complexities of the representation of people of color in art, including their depiction and their presence as professionals in the field. Thanks to this independant research work, she has been able to give conferences and workshops in museum such as Pompidou Centre, Musée d’Aquitaine, Musée de Pont Aven or Museum of natural history of La Rochelle to talk about racism, inclusion and representation. In 2024, she decides to go back with academic research and she integrates the interuniversity PHD in Art History share by UQAM, Udem and Concordia University.
