Community Affiliate and Artist

With a background in film and media studies, Marlene started her career as an artistic director for internationally co-produced animated films. For the last 15 years, Marlene has been working in the Canadian Film industry, creating and collaborating with award winning filmmakers and producers on documentaries for television, festivals and theatrical release. She has participated in several international workshops and labs and in 2019 Marlene was selected by Telefilm Canada to be part of the Canadian Showcase at the Doc Corner of the Marché du Film – Festival de Cannes. Marlene founded FAUVE FILM in 2012, the company specializes in creative documentary productions and supports author-driven social and political projects that have a unique vision. With a focus on telling stories of lesser-known communities, the films explore complex issues by combining original point of view with strong cinematographic storytelling.
