Houry Pilibbossian is a photographer and researcher of Syriac-Armenian origins. She is a anthropology PhD student at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Prior to that Houry received an MA in social anthropology from Goldsmiths University of London. And a BA in English and Communications from the American University of Armenia. Houry is the co-founder of « Hi Haleb »– a digital archive about the Aleppo-Armenian community. She’s a founding member of « Oral History Matter »– oral history based initiative at the American University of Armenia. She is also a research assistant in a collaborative oral history project mapping traces and memories of genocide in Armenia’s urban landscapes.
