Vivian Miyata is a first-year master’s student in human geography at McGill University. Her research examines the ways Black-led organizations address the physical, mental, and social needs of their communities in the context of gentrification and displacement. Her proposed oral history project focuses on the experiences of organizers and community members to shed light on the work they do, examine context from which their organizing has emerged.
