Postmarginal: Inclusive Performing Arts is an ad hoc collective that focuses on research in the field of performing arts, especially theatre. The group engages in practice-based explorations surrounding aesthetic vocabularies and rehearsal ethics that embrace marginalized population demographics, such as ethnicity, deafness, disability, and Queer identities. The group believes that new expressions of performing arts can emerge through the practice of inclusion. Postmarginal has three streams of activity: performance research, academic research, and community conversations. Postmarginal consists of an ad hoc team of artists from diverse disciplines, along with performing artists, scholars, and professionals.
