Artist
I am multidisciplinary artist and art therapist with over 20 years of international experience in Europe and North America. Recently relocated back to Canada, Montreal, I bring a deep passion for exploring themes of migration and identity through visual storytelling. Holding a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Alberta University of Arts and a Master’s in Art Therapy from University of Barcelona, I have dedicated my career to fostering creative expression and emotional healing within diverse communities. In this sense, I was also part of a research study team at Creative Arts Concordia Department (Art Therapy for Depression, Anxiety and Isolation).
Having worked extensively in various cultural contexts, I have developed a keen understanding of how personal narratives shape our collective identities. My artistic practice integrates oral history, emphasizing the importance of ethical collaboration and shared authority. By collecting and interpreting the stories of migrants, I aim to create immersive mixed-media artworks that resonate with the experiences of those who have navigated the complexities of displacement.
At the heart of my work is a commitment to community engagement and dialogue. I am excited to join the Centre for Oral History and Digital Storytelling (COHDS) and the Acts of Listening Lab (ALLab), where I envision fostering meaningful connections through workshops and exhibitions that celebrate the rich tapestry of voices in Montreal. Through this interdisciplinary collaboration, I am aspiring to amplify underrepresented narratives and contribute to a deeper understanding of the migration experience in contemporary society.
