Research Affiliate

Jamilah is a Canadian sociological researcher and critical pedagogue specializing in race and gender relations in North America and the impact of colonialism on the Canadian curriculum, with attention to the intersections of sexuality and social change. She is a SSHRC Joseph-Armand Bombardier Award recipient for her research on the overlooked narratives and representations of Black Afro-Caribbean Men in Canada. She is also a university instructor invested in cultivating the next generation of critical sociologists.
