Arthi Erika Jeyamohan is an artist-researcher and a PhD candidate in Cultural Studies at Queen’s University. She holds a BA in Psychology and Fine Arts from Bishop’s University and a Master of Education in Social Justice Education from the University of Toronto.
Arthi’s doctoral research centers on the Tamil diaspora in Canada and its connections to Indigenous Peoples, exploring themes of place, space, and identity. Storytelling is at the heart of her approach, woven through mixed media art and land-based methods that engage with the Radical Black Tradition and Indigenous knowledges. By using storytelling as a tool for resistance and healing, she seeks to amplify the voices of Tamils displaced by war while fostering intercultural solidarity and addressing decolonization and land stewardship in Canada.
