Hugo Rueda is a Chilean interdisciplinary scholar, Ph.D., museum practitioner, enthusiastic cyclist, and dog lover. Rooted in the tenets of cultural history, his work examines the origins, legacies, and resistances of colonial collecting and displaying practices in museums. Currently, Hugo is a postdoctoral fellow in the Social Studies of Medicine department at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. In this role, he conducts research aiming to provide new perspectives on the historical, cultural, bioethical, and affective significance of medical museum collections.
