Lisa Massa is a recent MA graduate from Concordia University’s Art History department. Her thesis, « Negotiating Bella Figura: Inside the Childhood Homes of Six Second-Generation Italian-Canadian Women in Montreal, » is an oral history project which explores the spatial experiences of second-generation Italian-Canadian women in Montreal in their childhood homes during the 1970s and 1980s to learn about the gendered domestic environments during their childhood and coming-of-age. Lisa is interested in storytelling as a means of knowledge making and preserving, and considers oral history as an important tool to access data and histories.
