Anja Novkovic is a visual artist and community engagement specialist. Her artistic work centers around conceptions of ‘place’ in its natural, built, and human forms. She has produced public artworks for the City of Richmond (BC) and City of Surrey (BC) and is currently developing a body of work titled Hold on Tight/Drži se Čvrsto, which explores oral history and biculturalism. In her community engagement practice, Anja uses cross-cultural approaches to research, design and facilitate workshops and engagement strategies focused on youth and adults. She works with non-profit organizations, schools, cities, and private enterprises.
The Storied City: Montreal will also be represented in the form of installations and potentially performance and film.
