DESCRIPTION
with Sepideh Shahamati, Léa Pinsky-Denieul, Yannick Baumann and the Parc-Ex Anti-Eviction Mapping Group
Cet atelier est le 2ème de la série Cartographier les récits : Méthodes, outils et pratiques alternatives
uMap is a free, open-source online mapping platform that builds on OpenStreetMap to enable anyone to easily publish web maps individually or collaboratively. In this workshop, we present the potential and limits of uMap based on our own experiences of deploying it in different mapping projects with a particular focus on Mapping Parc Extension (“Intangible heritage” project led by Sepideh Shahamati). This workshop will start with a brief presentation of this project and of the potential and limits of uMap for mapping stories, followed by a hands-on demonstration on how to set up a uMap project. This session will end with a Q&A session.
COHDS/ALLAB are grateful to be able to offer our programming on unceded Kanien’kehá:ka territory, in Tiohtiá:ke/Montreal.
