Caitlin Chan is a 1st MA student studying Media Studies in the department of Communications at Concordia with Dr. Owen Chapman. Her research interest is soundscapes, oral storytelling, and how mobile listening opens up new possibilities for space. For her thesis, she will be creating a podcast that collects the sounds and stories of public transit during the pandemic, stories regarding public transit pre-covid, and hopefully capture the sub-conscious familiarity of sounds and stories that are heard post pandemic. Using these interviews and mix with sound recordings of the Metro, she attempts to collaborate with participants to create a podcast that reflects their sensory and emotional transit experience.
