Technical Coordinator

Frankie Teardrop is a Montreal-based DJ, producer, festival director, and videographer whose work has helped shape Canada’s underground music and arts landscape for over a decade. As co-founder and longtime programmer of the groundbreaking queer music and arts festival Slut Island, Frankie has been at the forefront of emerging queer talent since 2014.

Their curatorial vision extends to LIP, a mix and event series spotlighting both emerging and established flinta DJs and producers, cementing Frankie’s role as one of Montreal’s influential voices in underground programming. Prior to their work in electronic music, Frankie played in punk bands Ursula and Fakes, touring extensively across Canada and the U.S. before shifting into electronic music, festival programming and DJing, a move that continues to inform their dynamic, genre-fluid sound. Frankie is now one of the JUNO Awards 2026 committee members for Underground Dance Single of the Year.

Alongside their music work, Frankie is an accomplished videographer and unionized camera technician working in both the independent and commercial film industries. They now focus primarily on shooting live sets at music festivals as well as music videos.

With a decade of experience in music festival programming and camera work, Frankie brings a grassroots-informed, community-first perspective and experience to COHDS.
