Alia Hazineh

Alia Hazineh is a graduate student in the Geography, Planning, and Environment program. Her master’s research examines urban gentrification from the perspective of abolition geography. She is currently exploring making sound projects and hopes to turn her thesis into a 3 part radio documentary series. Alia also organizes with the Defund La Police Coalition where she is working on an interview podcast series called Brûler/Batir that explore abolitionist /anti-carceral visions and practices of collective safety, support, and care around the city.
