Student Affiliate

Olivia Vidmar is a visual artist and graduate student from Tiohtiá:ke/Mooniyang/Montréal of German and Slovenian descent. She is currently pursuing her MA in Art History at Concordia University and holds a BFA from the same university in Art History and Studio Arts, specializing in painting, fibres and print media. Olivia is interested in public art, postindustrial places and community-authored urban history. Her thesis research investigates the role of public art in the specific social and spatial conditions found in the South-West Montreal neighbourhood of Pointe- Saint-Charles. Currently, she is a data manager for “La Ville Extraordinaire”, a community-based oral history research-creation project directed by Dr. Cynthia Hammond in collaboration with Dr. Shauna Janssen. She also holds the role of Treasurer for Concordia’s Art History Graduate Student Association and is grateful for the support of the Renata Hornstein Graduate Fellowship in Art History and the Art History Faculty and Staff Award.
