VK Preston is an Associate Professor of History at Concordia University and 2024 Camargo Fellow in Cassis, France. VK’s work focuses on cultural histories of dance, theatre, and performance, taking up interventions by artists as well as scholars and publics. VK has published articles and chapters in Theatre Journal, The Oxford Handbook of Dance and Reenactment, Performance Research, TDR / The Drama Review, The Oxford Handbook of Dance and Theatre, and History, Memory, Performance. They are currently at work on their first book, and their writing addresses both early modern and contemporary performance. Their work studies histories of gesture, embodiment, and practice.
