Sadiqa Jissan Nabila

I am Sadiqa Jissan Nabila. I am an international student about to start my PhD in history at Memorial University of Newfoundland in Fall 2026. I completed two master’s degrees in English literature from the University of Delhi (with a fully funded scholarship) and East Delta University, respectively. I was selected as a story scholar by the 1947 Partition Archive, a non-profit organisation based in Berkeley, California, for a competitive six-month research internship during which I documented oral history interviews and narratives centred on the 1947 Partition and its aftermath in India and Bangladesh; these oral histories are now preserved at the Stanford University Libraries. This experience equipped me with oral history documentation, preservation, and archival skills central to my doctoral research goals.
