Judith Muindisi is a researcher and educator. She holds a Masters of Arts in Heritage Studies from the University of the Witwatersrand and a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Archaeology from the University of Zimbabwe. She is currently a founder, partner of a heritage consultancy based in Johannesburg South Africa, since 2008. The company has been involved in both large and small scale development projects including the Corridors of Freedom City of Johannesburg Project a transit-oriented development program that was aimed at transforming Johannesburg’s existing spatial patterns through transport-oriented development and densification. Judith is interested in the intersection of oral history and place-making and how marginalized peoples’ narratives can shape the redevelopment of urban areas.
