Iris Rojas Marin is an interdisciplinary artist from Iquique, Chile. Trained from a young age in ballet and classical singing, she studied four years at a conservatory toward lyrical voice. She later earned a degree in Speech Therapy from the University of Chile, while she was discovering a passion for songwriting and music production that led her to create soundscapes for theater and, later, sound installations and performance. Her credits in Canada include sound design for Concord Floral under the direction of Emma Tibaldo, and Research Assistant work with Dr. Luis C. Sotelo on the project Call & Response — Who Listens to César Lasso?. She is the director and sound designer of ‘Drawn’, a performance that weaves personal sensibility with reflections on gender violence, empowerment, and social justice. She is in her final year of Performance Creation at Concordia University and currently serves as Coordinator of the Acts of Listening Lab.
