Irene Jansen (she/her) is a social justice researcher, educator and organizer. Irene has worked for trade unions as a health policy analyst and human rights advocate for twenty-six years. As a Senior Human Rights Officer at CUPE National, she carries out education, research and campaigning on gender justice, LGBTQ2+ rights, and workplace harassment and violence. In her community, Irene organizes with other parents against sexism, homophobia, transphobia, and racism in schools and sports clubs. Irene has a BA from McGill University and a Master of Social Work from Carleton University. Irene is a cis, straight, white settler living on unceded Algonquin Anishnaabe lands.
