Gabrielle McLaren holds an MA from Concordia University’s Department of History in 2022. She is interested in environmental history, medical history, settler colonial studies, and historical climatology.

Before living in Montreal, Gabrielle lived in Vancouver where she earned her undergraduate degree in history and world literature from Simon Fraser University, and worked in student journalism and support work. She picked up the habit of knitting in seminars there and never looked back.

She currently works as the Associate Director for the Deindustrialization and the Politics of Our Time SSHRC-funded partnership project and a Curatorial Assistant at the McGill University Health Center.
