We congratulate COHDS co-founder, Dr. Steven High, who has been awarded Le Prix de la présidence de l’Assemblée nationale as part of the 21st Prix du livre politique for his book, « Deindustrializing Montreal: Entangled Histories of Race, Residence, and Class », published by McGill-Queen’s University Press.
His book delves into the complex interplay between capitalism, class struggles, and racial inequality in Montreal’s working-class neighbourhoods of Little Burgundy and the Point. This recognition accentuates the importance of Dr. High’s study into the dynamics of deindustrialization and his continued contributions to the field of public history.
