Annick MF is the founding coordinator of the Black Perspectives Initiative (BPI). She is a three time graduate of Concordia and has been working on campus for the last decade, where she participated in many campus communities, research projects and classrooms. Outside of the BPI, Annick is a mama, multidisciplinary maker, and community organizer born and based out of Tio’tia:ke (Montreal). In her most recent degree, she explored ways of unpacking the complex racial and lingual dynamics of Montreal with youth, through a research-creation project called Understanding Blackness in Montreal: A Toolkit for Engaging Youth in Critical Dialogue Around Race, which led to the intergenerational Mapping Blackness in Montreal project she facilitates. As this project grows she hopes to take it on tour across Canada and foster connections between Black Canadian communities.
