DESCRIPTION OF ORGANIZATION:
We are inviting applications for our “Scholars-in-Residence” program for the 2025-26 academic year. This program is designed to bring together oral history practitioners, artists, and creative storytellers by offering them both a calm workspace and an opportunity to engage, connect, and collaborate with other COHDS affiliates.
Each Scholar-in-Residence will be provided with a workstation, including a state-of-the-art computer in our COHDS lab as well as a locker for books and personal belongings. Scholars-in-Residence will be able to book our centre’s main meeting room (the “Sunroom”) for occasional writing retreats. We are pleased to provide access to a large meeting/lunch table and kitchen facilities (fridge, microwave, and kettle).
Scholars-in-Residence are asked to participate in one potluck lunch each term to discuss their work in a convivial and informal atmosphere. They are invited to join our intellectually vibrant community by becoming involved – as an attendee, participant, facilitator, or organizer – in our programming.
If you are a COHDS affiliate and interested in pursuing your work in a collaborative working environment, please submit your application to Barbara.Lorenzkowski@concordia.ca by Monday, September 22. Your application should consist of a cover letter, describing your research and reflecting on your interest in becoming a Scholar-in-Residence, as well as a CV. Successful applicants are asked to join our Annual General Assembly on Friday, October 3rd (14h00-17h30).
