Nico Contreras is a doctoral student in Concordia’s Department of Sociology and Anthropology, working across themes of art, activism, care and migration among Latin Canadians. He has spent the past fifteen years working in community arts and mental health support from coast to coast. Nico recently presented the short film Rábanos Olas Jacarandas Aleonarse at COHDS with Sonia Bustos and Priscilla Opazo Castillo, a moving meditation through the intersections of dance and oral history. His short fiction San Hen premiered at the Toronto Latin American Film Festival; it is a love letter to Montréal’s Latinx artists.
