Master’s in Sociology, Concordia University

Lydia Nicole (Lilly) is a Master’s student of Sociology working under the supervision of Dr. Mark Watson and Dr. Viviane Namaste. Her research interests focus around oral histories, homelessness, Indigeneity, regions of the Circumpolar North, marginalization, racialization and trauma. Her working thesis is the collection and analysis of mobile oral histories of Inuit women living in situations of hidden homelessness in Montreal, Quebec. Her 2014 undergraduate honours research was organized around the common themes found throughout the corpus of narratives on Inuit residential schooling across Canada and specifically highlighted the unique experiences of Inuit survivors.
