I am Professor in the Department of English and Graduate Program in Cultural Studies and have taught and done research in the areas of Indigenous Studies; 19th Century American literature, culture, and media; and copyright and cultural policy. Most recently I am author with Tina Piper and Kirsty Robertson of Putting Intellectual Property in its Place: Rights Discourses, Creative Labour, and the Everyday (Oxford, 2014). Currently I am working primarily in the area of Critical Heritage Studies and leading the Swamp Ward and Inner Harbour History Project in Kingston, Ontario.
