SUMMARY:Listening Circles: Telling Interview Stories (Monthly)
DESCRIPTION:Facilitated by Anna Sheftel\, Stacey Zembrzycki and Cassandra Marsillo\, who are Kitchen Table Collective Members \n\n\nCreating open\, safe\, generative\, and generous spaces to tell interview stories is vital to thinking through the varied challenges that oral historians face in the field. These monthly listening circles\, led by an intergenerational group of practitioners\, will enable COHDS community members to build relationships while they share the issues that keep them awake at night. Talking through what is said or unsaid\, the stories that have a beginning but no end\, the tangents that lead to possibilities or dead ends\, and the interpersonal dynamics that make collaboration possible or problematic are all part of a debriefing process that holds great potential for pushing the field forward. This is work that should not be done alone. SUMMARY:Come Walk With Us: Walkathon Fundraiser for “Award of Distinction in Oral History”
DESCRIPTION:This year\, “Team COHDS” will be joining the Concordia Shuffle – an annual fundraiser for student scholarships and bursaries – to help raise funds for our annual “Award of Distinction in Oral History.” \nWe are warmly inviting all members of our community to come and walk with us from Concordia’s downtown campus to Loyola on Friday\, September 26. The shuffle will start at 12:30 pm at the EV Atrium on Sir George Williams Campus. A member of our team will be holding up a sign “Team COHDS”. \nJoin our team: If you liked to “shuffle” with us\, we invite you to join our team (click on “Join Team”). COHDS-affiliated faculty will be donating $ 10 for each COHDS affiliate who will join us at the shuffle. \nSupport from afar: For those members of our community who are not based in Montreal or have prior obligations on September 26\, if you were interested in making a small donation to our campaign\, you could do so at “Donate Now”.
