She holds master\u2019s degrees in History from the University of Ottawa and in Educational Technology from Concordia University. Her activism focuses on resisting state-sanctioned violence against women and girls, including those detained during the Woman, Life, Freedom uprising in Iran, as well as the execution of women and sexual torture.
