She was a FLAS fellow (Arabic) at Columbia University for 2019\/2020. Her academic work has focused on Palestinian oral history, intergenerational memory, refugee rights, children\u2019s rights, movement and migration. Her Master\u2019s dissertation at Columbia was based on her project with Palestinian refugee youth who conducted oral history interviews with their elders about life in Palestine before the 1948 War, and histories of popular resistance. She conducted independent ethnographic fieldwork in Palestinian refugee camps in the West Bank between 2017\/2018, and research on forced displacement at BADIL: Resource Center for Palestinian Residency and Refugee Rights, in Bethlehem. Her Bachelor\u2019s Honors thesis project at McGill University explored the role of women in the first Palestinian Intifada (1987-1993), oral histories of the uprising, and gendered critiques of Palestinian leadership. In 2016, she co-founded the first student chapter of \u201cIndependent Jewish Voices\u201d at McGill. Anna has presented her research at conferences in the U.S., Canada, and Palestine, and has taught courses on oral history to both university and high school students.<\/p>\n<p>She has also worked with immigrants, refugees, asylum seekers, and domestic violence survivors at various agencies and law firms in New York City.<\/p>\n<p>Anna is affiliated with Insaniyyat \u2013 Society of Palestinian Anthropologists, and the Center for Oral History and Digital Storytelling at Concordia University, Montreal. She is also a founding member of \u201cVoice of Insaniyyat\u201d, an academic and bilingual podcast on the Anthropology of Palestine (available on all podcast platforms).
