{"id":13685,"date":"2022-04-14T12:29:08","date_gmt":"2022-04-14T16:29:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/storytelling.concordia.ca\/assistant-to-the-coordinator-part-time-position\/"},"modified":"2022-04-14T12:29:08","modified_gmt":"2022-04-14T16:29:08","slug":"assistant-to-the-coordinator-part-time-position","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/storytelling.concordia.ca\/fr\/assistant-to-the-coordinator-part-time-position\/","title":{"rendered":"Assistant to the Coordinator (Part-time position)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<style type=\"text\/css\" data-created_by=\"avia_inline_auto\" id=\"style-css-av-1elxl-b72babf4858e5795568ec5dbf4e0127c\">\n.flex_column.av-1elxl-b72babf4858e5795568ec5dbf4e0127c{\nborder-radius:0px 0px 0px 0px;\npadding:0px 0px 0px 0px;\n}\n<\/style>\n<div  class='flex_column av-1elxl-b72babf4858e5795568ec5dbf4e0127c av_one_fourth  avia-builder-el-0  el_before_av_three_fourth  avia-builder-el-first  first flex_column_div av-zero-column-padding  '     ><\/div>\n\n<style type=\"text\/css\" data-created_by=\"avia_inline_auto\" id=\"style-css-av-1elxl-a8c501240a5b25f22485ac3905a1b946\">\n.flex_column.av-1elxl-a8c501240a5b25f22485ac3905a1b946{\nborder-radius:0px 0px 0px 0px;\npadding:0px 0px 0px 0px;\n}\n<\/style>\n<div  class='flex_column av-1elxl-a8c501240a5b25f22485ac3905a1b946 av_three_fourth  avia-builder-el-1  el_after_av_one_fourth  avia-builder-el-last  flex_column_div av-zero-column-padding  '     ><section  class='av_textblock_section av-kbihb0gk-77d502bee485f9a4a86f2960911ef3a4 '   itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/BlogPosting\" itemprop=\"blogPost\" ><div class='avia_textblock'  itemprop=\"text\" ><p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><strong>[This is a Work-Study position, please see eligibility criteria further down for details]<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><strong>JOB DESCRIPTION<\/strong>: Under the supervision of, and in close collaboration with the Coordinator &amp; Community Facilitator, the Assistant to the Coordinator at the Centre for Oral History &amp; Digital Storytelling (COHDS) will be responsible for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Answering general and technical inquiries from affiliates, researchers, students, faculty, or members of the general public by email<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Managing COHDS&rsquo;s internal calendar<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Keeping mailing lists and affiliate lists up to date<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Keeping track of online event registration and attendance<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Providing assistance to the Coordinator &amp; Community Facilitator in the work of organizing, hosting, and documenting training workshops, seminars, lectures, and other events<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Promoting COHDS events to other departments, research centres, and the general public via our mailing lists, website, and social media platforms<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Writing and sending the Centre&rsquo;s monthly bilingual newsletter<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Updating website content<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Translating written content for the above platforms<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Managing and following up on equipment loans<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Providing assistance to the COHDS Co-Directors, the Lab Technician, and the Archives Coordinator when needed<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Liaising with different members of the COHDS team when needed<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">The Coordinator Assistant will be asked to attend regular staff meetings, report on their work, and communicate information to other staff members.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><strong>REQUIRED SKILLS<\/strong>:\u00a0Bilingualism, computer skills (excel, word, other), customer service, data entry<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><strong>ASSETS<\/strong>:\u00a0Attention to detail is an essential skill for this job, also being able to meet deadlines, and communicate clearly with a diverse group of users\/visitors,<br \/>\nOther computer skills would be valuable assets: familiarity with web conferencing software (zoom), social media, Photoshop.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><strong>STUDENT GAINS<\/strong>:\u00a0COHDS is a very multidisciplinary community of research and practice. This position allows the student to be in direct contact with a wide array of both community and academic research, in a bilingual environment. Through exposure to our workshops and seminars, the student can also gain training in oral history, participatory research, and research-creation. As a direct result of their work for COHDS, the student will regularly learn about community events and ongoing projects in the field of oral history.
