Basil Johnson described <a href=\"https:\/\/www.harpercollins.com\/products\/the-manitous-basil-johnston?variant=32154013466658\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" aria-label=\"the Manitous (external link opens in a new tab)\">the Manitous<\/a> <i>\u201cas realities [from] other than the physical ones\u2026 to the unseen realities\u2026 that are beyond human understanding but are still clearly real\u201d<\/i> (2001, xxi-xxii).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"xlarge-text\">These powerful and unseen Beings care for the planet and inform all Human Beings about our responsibilities to the physical and unseen world. It is because the earth sleeps under a blanket of protective snow that we can tell these stories about the natural world. Storytellers seek to offer an opportunity for people to connect with a First Peoples\u2019 perspective of the world by listening to their winter stories to reconstitute balance and harmony in these uncertain times.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"xlarge-text\">This is a safe space to experience the power of the Indigenous Oral Tradition under the authority of these Indigenous Storytellers.
