SUMMARY:Labours of Love: Oral Histories of Working and Activist Subcultures
DESCRIPTION:Round-table with Allegra Chiarella\, Evan Wolfe and Freyja Chapman \nThis panel will showcase student oral history research on three distinctive communities and subcultures: members of a bike courier cooperative in Montréal (Allegra)\, treeplanters in northern B.C (Evan) and the Mining Injustice Solidarity Network (MISN) in Toronto (Freyja). The three panelists will bring their work into conversation on shared themes of the insider/outsider dynamics\, the role of storytelling in constructing worldviews and identities\, and oral transmission of knowledge common across these groups.
