Eimear Rosato is a Ph.D. student at Concordia University within the Department of History and School of Irish Studies under the supervision of Dr.Gavin Foster. She received her undergraduate degree in History and Sociology in 2016 and subsequent Master of Letters in 2017, both from Newcastle University, UK. Her research focuses on oral history as a method to understand intergenerational memory of the conflict in Northern Ireland. Eimear’s doctoral research centres on two bordering communities in North Belfast, divided along sectarian lines physically manifested in ‘Peace Walls.’ Utilizing oral history to interview several generations within family units, this research uncovers the extent and impact of intergenerational memory of the conflict, on both sides of the divide.
