L'Autre Bord de la Track: Audiowalk (SSHRC Insight, CRC)

In spring of 2015, the COHDS launched it’s most recent in a series of audioguides to Montréal neighborhoods.  This latest installment guides listeners on a walk through the contested places of the neighbourhood of Pointe St-Charles, highlighting how community activism has played a vital role in how the neighbourhood has transformed with deindustrialization.

The launch for the audiowalk was organized in collaboration with the Arrondissement du Sud-Ouest and the event took place at the Bibliothèque St-Charles.  In addition to the launch, the libraries hosted two guided public expositions of both “L’autre bord du track” and “Canal” (2013) audiowalks in June 2015.  Both audiowalks are now part of the permanent collections of 3 public libraries in the southwest where listening devices may be borrowed along with the accompanying booklets.
