Telling Stories: Black Montreal (History Course)

Wednesday, February 6, 2019 - 10:15 to 13:00
Speaker:
Steven High

Protests and Pedagogy, in partnership with COHDS, presents a conference and event series commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the Sir George Williams University Computer Center Occupation in Montréal.

Come join this history department course for a day as we explore the history of Black Montreal. Overall, the course taught by Steven High is designed to allow students to conduct original archival and oral history research related to Montreal’s English-speaking Black community centred in Little Burgundy. Students are conducting extensive original research within the archival records of the Negro Community Centre (NCC) in partnership with the Concordia Library, Special Collections.

*This event will take place in the 4TH SPACE, 1400 De Maisonneuve Ouest (corner of Mackay).
