Blooming their Hopes, Together (Group 1)

Tuesday, May 16, 2017 - 14:00 to 16:00
Speaker:
Seonjeong Yi

Have you heard about “Comfort Women”? Why should we pay attention to their stories, and what messages do their lives present?

You are invited to join a workshop led by Seonjeong Yi where you can hear the stories of “Comfort Women” and discuss this topic.

The workshop program consists of experiencing the pressed flower collage artworks of hope and peace by Soon-ak Kim and Dal-youn Sim, and their life stories. This is followed by the story of how their artworks and many other people’s participation established the Heeum “Comfort Women” museum. Various artistic activities include reenacting the pressed flower collage making process of Soon-ak Kim and Dalyun-Sim.

The workshop takes about 2 hours, and the applicant must be over 18 years old. The workshop will be presented in English. There is a maximum number of ten participants per group, and it is very limited in numbers. Please submit your application only if you are certain you can attend.

There will be two groups (the workshop will be repeated): 2 to 4pm and 5 to 7pm. Please register only for one of the time slots.

If you have any questions, please send a message to Seonjeong by email at Seonjeong.yi@gmail.com
