Translators Wanted (French to English)

The “Living Archives of the Rwandan Diaspora” project, a SSHRC funded partnership project between COHDS and Page-Rwanda, has transcribed 34 interviews with survivors of the 1994 Genocide of Rwandan Tutsis as well as those exiled in earlier waves of violence. These French-language transcripts now need to be translated into English. We are looking to hire 4-5 university students as translators for work to be undertaken during October, November and early December.

We are able to pay the wage rates established by Concordia’s Research Assistant’s union ($20-$24.50/hour) based on educational level. In your application, please state how many words you would approximately be able to translate in an hour (to help set the overall benchmark). Submit your CV and short cover letter to Steven High: steven.high@concordia.ca. Deadline for applications: Thursday October 12th. Translators must be based in Montreal.
