Eric Weissman wins CAGS/UMI award!

We are very happy to announce that Eric Weissman, a former student affiliate of COHDS, won the CAGS/UMI Distinguished Dissertation Award for Spaces, Places and States of Mind: a pragmatic ethnography of liminal critique. His dissertation explores intentional homeless communities such as shanty towns and tent cities. As the CAGS explains on its website: "Weissman used video and social media in addition to conventional research and writing in an attempt to prompt observation, discussion and debate about the relationship between housing and homelessness and the role these communities play in society and political structure."

We strongly encourage you to visit it.

His PhD thesis can be accessed through Concordia's website at: http://spectrum.library.concordia.ca/978648/
