Dr. Stéphane Martelly Awarded a FRQSC Research Creation Postdoc at COHDS

COHDS is proud to announce that Dr. Stéphane Martelly has been awarded a two year post-doctoral fellowship from the FRQSC for her project “Penser et créer depuis le lieu de ce silence. Élaborations de l’oeuvre absente et possible à partir des « histoires de vie » de Montréalais déplacés par la violence (Haïti-Québec).”

Dr. Martelly is an award-winning author, poet, painter, and researcher who was a key member of the Haitian Working Group of the Montreal Life Stories project (2006-12). Expanding on her literary and transdisciplinary approach, her post-doctoral project will consider the place and function of silence in the oral history interviews conducted with Haitian-Montrealers. She will explore theoretical and creative ways to engage with this silence.
Stéphane will be joining Lilia Topouzova and Karoline Truchon as post-doctoral fellows under the supervision of Steven High. Congrats  Stéphane!
