COHDS/Concordia closure, effective March 16th, 2020

Important: COHDS/Concordia closure, effective March 16th, 2020

Dear members of the COHDS community,

As you know, the premier of Quebec has declared a state of emergency in the province with regard to COVID-19. Concordia University has also issued an announcement today that the university will be closed for two weeks, effective Monday, March 16th. The university has also, as of last night, required that all public events be cancelled until the end of the semester, in an effort to stem the spread of the novel coronavirus.

Accordingly, all events in the COHDS and the Acts of Listening Lab calendar from today until the end of term have been cancelled. We hope to reschedule these events as soon as possible. If it becomes feasible to offer virtual events, we will make announcements to this effect on our website and facebook page.

In addition, COHDS and the Acts of Listening Lab will be closed as of next Monday until the end of the closure period (May 1st), and possibly longer. This means that, as of March 16th, we will have no regular opening hours nor any in-person staff support. We deeply regret any inconvenience that this closure may cause, especially to students working on end of term projects. If you have projects on our computers or our server, you will need to retrieve these today or, if you have a key, over the weekend.

The COHDS and Acts of Listening Lab staff will however continue to work from home as of March 16th. This means that affiliates can connect virtually with staff if they have questions or need guidance or technical support. The contact emails for all staff may be found here:

Please remember that all our staff work part-time. Thank-you in advance for your patience as you wait for replies to your queries.

Wishing you all good health in these difficult times,

Cynthia + Luis, COHDS Co-Directors
