Capturing better audio (and fixing problems when you don’t)

Thursday, October 26, from 12 to 2pm

Speaker: Philip Lichti

In this workshop participants learn strategies for recording audio during oral history interviews. We'll look at different microphones and what situations to use them, placement and wiring, setting levels and monitoring, and listening for and eliminating room noise. We will also cover techniques for improving common audio problems using the suite of postproduction tools available at COHDS lab.

Philip Lichti is the Digital Media and Lab Coordinator at the Centre for Oral History and Digital Storytelling. He provides support and training for video and audio postproduction in the lab using the Adobe Creative Cloud software suite.
